About JKA Hungary
Our association is a non-profit organization that brings together followers of JKA karate. JKA karate is a traditional Martial Art with a strong emphasis on modernizing techniques and applying scientific methods in
education.
We have operated in many organizational forms since its establishment, and since 1990 we have been registered as the Hungarian JKA Karate Association (JKA Hungary). We help the work of 35 clubs around the country, in which all ages can be found, from the youngest to the oldest.
We have been practicing shotokan karate based on the Kihon-Kata-Kumite unit since 1974 under the guidance of the masters in the Japanese Karate Association.
Our trainings are based on the principles of budo-karate as well as preparation for competitions. The knowledge of our members is shown by the kyu and dan degrees obtained in the belt exams. Our competitors are consistently successful in major international competitions. Our camps are run by the most renowned Japanese instructors.
Our annual schedule includes training camps, competitions, professional training and international competitions.
We are part of the Hungarian karate life as members of MKSZ (Hungarian Karate Federation), and we are active members of the JKA World Organization (JKA WF), several European Shotokan organizations (JKA WF Europe, ESKA) and the WSKA (World Shotokan Karate Association).
